Extension of Candidate Filing Period for the 2024 Presidential Primary Election

Any qualified person, other than the incumbent, can now file nomination papers and pay the filing fee until December 13, 2023, 5 p.m. 

SANTA ANA, CA – December 9, 2023, at 10:00am – The Secretary of State has announced that the nomination period has been extended until 5 p.m. on December 13, 2023, for the federal and state offices listed below that represent Orange County voters because the eligible incumbents failed to file Nomination Papers by the 5 p.m. December 8, 2023 deadline. 

Any qualified person, other than the incumbent, can now file the Nomination Papers until 5 p.m. on December 13, 2023, in the office of the Registrar of Voters, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana, California.  

Business Hours are: Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
