The following contests will have nominees in a run-off election to be held on November 4, 2014.
State Constitutional Officers – Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Controller, Treasurer, Attorney General, Insurance Commissioner, and State Board of Equalization, District 4
United States Representative -- Districts 38, 39, 45, 46, 47, 48, and 49
State Senator -- Districts 32, 34, and 36
State Assembly Member -- Districts 55, 65, 68, 69, 72, 73, and 74
Superior Court Judge, Office No. 14
County Supervisor -- Districts 2 and 5
Nominees for United States Representative, Judge of the Superior Court -- Office No. 14, County Supervisor, and County Assessor may file a Candidate’s Statement of Qualifications to be printed in the County of Orange Sample Ballot Pamphlet.* The filing period is July 14, 2014 through August 8, 2014, 5:00 p.m. The deposit cost estimate is the same amount as that for the June 3, 2014 Statewide Direct Primary Election. The Candidate’s Statement and the deposit must be filed with the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana by the August 8th deadline. NOTE: Even if the nominee wants to have the same Candidate’s Statement in the General Election Sample Ballot Pamphlet as was printed in the Statewide Direct Primary Election Sample Ballot Pamphlet, he/she must re-file the statement and pay the deposit.
Nominees for State Senator and State Assembly Member may also file a Candidate’s Statement of Qualifications if they have voluntarily agreed to expenditure limits.
Nominees for State Constitutional Officers may file a Candidate’s Statement with the Office of the Secretary of State. More information is available through that office at 916-657-2166.
Nominees for United States Representative, State Senator, State Assembly Member, Judge of the Superior Court - Office No. 14, County Supervisor, and County Assessor may request in writing a different Ballot Designation than that used at the Statewide Direct Primary Election no later than July 29, 2014. The written request shall be accompanied by a Ballot Designation Worksheet. Both the letter and the worksheet must be filed with the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building B, Santa Ana 92705.
In addition to sending the information to the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, nominees for United States Representative, State Senator, and State Assembly Member must also send the letter and worksheet to the Office of the Secretary of State, Elections Division, 1500 – 11th Street, 5th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814.
Nominees for State Constitutional Officers may request in writing a different Ballot Designation no later than July 29, 2014, through the Office of the Secretary of State. For more information, call 916-657-2166.
*If a candidate in a multi-county district would like his/her Candidate’s Statement to be included in the Sample Ballot Pamphlet distributed in each county of the district, the statement must be filed in the office of each county’s election official.
