County Employee Ballot Strike Force Team

A new way of voting is coming to Orange County! Be part of the excitement and join hundreds of County of Orange employees by working the upcoming Primary Election in March 2020.

With our new style of voting comes a new position for County employees to help support the elections process in Orange County: Ballot Drop Box Strike Force Team. The Registrar of Voters must recruit over 200 employees to ensure all Ballot Drop Boxes placed throughout the County are properly closed and secured on Election Night. To accomplish this, we will depend on the commitment of civic-minded County employees who have the skills and professionalism to make this effort successful.

This will only require a one-day commitment, as the training and assignments will be provided the Election Day. The day will begin at 1 p.m., and end around approximately 9:30 p.m. You will receive a full day’s pay, in addition to mileage reimbursement and a $100 stipend.

This recruitment is open to all County employees.

Stipend

In addition to your normal day’s (8 hours) pay, you will receive:

  • A $100 stipend
  • Mileage reimbursement

    *Please note: County Poll Workers do not receive overtime or additional hours for volunteering on Election Day.  

Duties

  • Ensuring Ballot Drop Boxes are closed at 8 p.m. on Election Night
  • Assist with an orderly closing of Ballot Drop Boxes on Election Night

Hours of Service 

  • Training and assignment will be provided on Tuesday, March 3rd.
  • Employees will report to the Registrar of Voters at 1:00 pm.
