Notice of Election

Notice is hereby given that a Special Recall Election will be held on April 7, 2020 in the City of Westminster. 

 

The purpose of this election is to determine whether or not the officers named in the recall petitions shall be recalled: Tri Ta, City of Westminster Mayor, Kimberly Ho, City of Westminster Member of the City Council, and Chi Charlie Nguyen, Member of the City Council. If a majority of the voters determine the officer(s) sought to be recalled shall be removed from office, then the candidate(s) receiving the highest number of votes for the office(s) shall be elected for the unexpired term(s).

 

Notice is further given that starting Saturday, March 28, 2020, select Vote Centers will be open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Starting Saturday, April 4, 2020, all Vote Centers will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. On Election Day, April 7, 2020, all Vote Centers will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

 

All ballots cast will be counted centrally at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.

 

Notice is further given that Vote-by-Mail ballot processing will begin on March 9, 2020, and will continue Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. until the election is certified on or about May 7, 2020.  The last day to request a replacement Vote-by-Mail ballot is March 31, 2020. The Vote-by-Mail process is open to the public at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.

 

Notice is further given that the Orange County Registrar of Voters will conduct a risk-limiting audit in lieu of the manual tally of specific precincts, and will begin on

April 8, 2020, at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.
