Turnout is always tough to predict - it depends on what's on the ballot, voters' level of interest, time of year, etc. If history is a guide the 10-year average turnout for primaries is 29.46%.

24 Hours Per Day
We have begun our roster production - booklets with the names of voters. This operation will run 24 hours per day through the holiday weekend.
Online Voter Registration
In the last 30 days 4,729 new voters have registered online in Orange County. In the last week of registration 1,370 people registered. The online option continues to grow in popularity.
Improvements for Poll Workers
Continual improvement spurs innovation
With every election we continue to look for ways to improve. Case-in-point - we have screen printed the contents of bags of supplies - now when poll workers pull them out on Election Day they will know exactly what is inside and where it should go in the polling place.

Vote-by-Mail Processing Underway
As a part of our pre-election outreach This morning we began to open the nearly 75,000 ballots we have received to date. The process involves sorting the ballots to the precinct level, using automated equipment to open and remove the ballot and a team of staff members to flatten and prepare the ballots for scanning - all of which will be reported at 8:05 p.m. on Election Night.
