500,000 and Counting

20 hours shifts as we move to mailing

Our sample ballot booklets are being addressed at the rate of 5,500 per machine per hour.  This hectic pace is needed in order to meet the mailing deadline of April 24th - voters will begin to receive their sample ballots week of April 28th.

Military Ballots

Under federal law we must have all military and overseas ballots in the mail stream no later than 45-days prior to June 3rd.  To date we have kept up with daily volume to meet the 45-day deadline - 36 ballots have been returned.

County Poll Workers

Orange County has a county employee poll worker program - many of OC's agencies have stepped up to the plate to assist us by promoting this program among their employees.  To date 224 employees have volunteered through the program.

Preparing Vote-by-Mail Ballots

Vote-by-mail ballot preparation

Preparing our files to print vote-by-mail ballots takes weeks to accomplish.  This is due to translations, proofing, and the complexity of the number of precincts and combinations.   We'll begin printing 717,000 permanent vote-by-mail ballots on Monday and begin to prepare them for mailing on Friday.

CSUF Political Science Town Hall

The Registrar of Voters is excited to attend a Town Hall at California State University Fullerton for 600 political science students and will provide election information, as well as opportunities to register to vote and volunteer to be a poll worker.  This town hall brings together students where they present solutions to public policy issues in simulated scenarios.
