Vote Centers Open Saturday!You don’t have to wait until Election Day to vote in the 2024 Presidential Primary Election. Thirty-seven Vote Centers open on Saturday and will remain open through March 5. An additional 146 Vote Centers will open on March 2. The hours of operation for Vote Centers are as follows:

| What Can You Do at a Vote Center? Open four or 11 days, Vote Centers are one-stop locations for all things voting. Vote Centers allow you to not only vote, but to solve voter registration issues, register to vote, get a replacement ballot, and receive general assistance. You can visit any of the 183 Vote Centers throughout the county. Pick the one that is most convenient to you – whether it’s one close to where you live, work, shop, or play. Mark your vote-by-mail ballot at home and drop it off at a Vote Center. Pick one of the 25 locations with a drive thru ballot drop off if you don’t want to get out of your car. All Vote Centers are ADA accessible and have ample parking. Walk into one to drop off the vote-by-mail ballot you’ve already marked or check in to receive, mark and cast an in-person ballot. All Vote Centers in Orange County will feature the following resources for voters with disabilities:
Language assistance is available at all Vote Centers as well. Translated reference ballots in Farsi (Persian), Gujarati, Hindi, Japanese, and Tagalog for eligible precincts will be available at all Vote Centers in Orange County. All election information and ballots are translated into Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and Vietnamese. We use electronic voter rosters on pollbooks that contain every voter in the county. All of our ballot-on-demand ballot printers and accessible ballot marking devices are loaded with 4,700 ballot types so that no matter which Vote Center you visit, you will receive the correct ballot for your precinct, political party preference, and language preference. | Secure Equipment and Systems In compliance with California law, all voting equipment used by the Registrar of Voters in Vote Centers and our office is not connected to the internet, which includes our ballot-on demand printers, accessible ballot marking devices, and ballot scanners. The voting system in our office that designs ballots and tallies the votes from the scanned ballots is also not connected to the internet or to the ballot scanners. It is housed in a secure room. Our voting equipment and voting system are air gapped from all other systems and networks used by the Registrar of Voters. The accuracy of the voting equipment is tested before and after each election. And the accuracy of the vote tally is audited each election by hand counting all paper ballots from at least 1 percent of the precincts in the county, which are randomly selected. The separate election management system contains the voter registration database, candidate filing information, voting locations, and petitions. It does send and receive encrypted voter registration information over secure cloud servers connected to the statewide voter registration system VoteCal and to the pollbooks used in Vote Centers to check in voters. The tracking and sharing of voter participation data in the election management system helps us prevent voters from successfully casting two ballots within Orange County or one within Orange County and another in a second county in the state. The election management system and the voting system are two separate and distinct State-certified systems that are not connected to each other. The election management system tracks whether a voter cast a ballot in an election. But it does not contain ballot data, votes, or results. This is why a pollbook prints a receipt containing the voter’s ballot type number that is separately entered into a ballot-on-demand printer or accessible ballot marking device to produce the voter’s correct ballot. The voting system contains ballot information, including ballot images, cast vote records, and vote tallies. But it does not contain voter information to ensure the votes on every voter’s ballot remain secret even to the Registrar of Voters. |

| Pop-Up Voting Centers Open Sunday! Want to vote in person this election, but do so outside in the fresh air? The Registrar of Voters will hold five, one-day pop-up voting events from Sunday, February 25 through Monday, March 4 in San Juan Capistrano, Irvine, Anaheim, Seal Beach, and Santa Ana. Our unique mobile voting unit offers all of the voting services of an indoor Vote Center, including voter registration, vote-by-mail ballot drop off, issuance of replacement ballots, and in-person voting. | Ballot Drop Box Locations Ballot drop boxes are installed in highly visible and safe locations throughout the county and are available 24/7. You can use a drop box to return your completed vote-by-mail ballot until March 5 at 8 p.m. Ballot drop boxes are secure – made with reinforced steel walls, weigh more than 1,000 pounds, and are bolted into the concrete. We use teams of two staff members to frequently collect ballots from the drop boxes, exceeding State regulations. To find drop box locations, visit ocvote.gov/dropbox.
