Ballots To Be Mailed Next WeekThe Registrar of Voters will start mailing Vote-By-Mail ballots for the 2024 Presidential Primary Election to more than 1.8 million registered voters on Monday, February 5. In this election, you can vote to nominate candidates for the offices of President of the United States, U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative, and California Assembly Member. You will also be able to vote to approve or reject State Proposition 1 and to elect three candidates to the Superior Court bench. Based on where you live, you may be eligible to vote for a candidate seeking a seat in the California Senate and on the County Board of Education and County Board of Supervisors. The ballot also contains local measures for the cities of Huntington Beach, Irvine, and Westminster and an effort to recall two members of the Orange Unified School District Board of Education. Finally, the Orange County Democratic and Republican parties are electing members to their central committees. | Secure Ballot Drop Boxes to Open On February 5, two-person teams of Registrar of Voters employees will inspect and unlock 122 ballot drop boxes throughout the county for use in the 2024 Presidential Primary Election. The ballot drop boxes are one of four safe and secure ways Orange County voters can cast their ballot. They:
Only teams of two election workers can collect the voted ballots from the drop boxes, following strict chain of custody procedures. The Registrar of Voters tracks the GPS location of ballot collection teams and stays in radio contact with them at all times they are completing their routes. The routes are randomized each day to protect the safety of the employees and the ballots. | Need a Replacement Ballot? If your ballot is damaged when you receive it in the mail or you make a mistake when filling it out, you may request that the Registrar of Voters issue you a replacement ballot. You can request that a replacement ballot be mailed to you by visiting our website at ocvote.gov/replacement by February 27. You will be asked to confirm your identity before you can apply for a replacement ballot online. If you require a replacement ballot after this date, you can obtain one in-person at any of our 183 Vote Centers in the county or by visiting the Registrar of Voters at 1300 S. Grand Ave., Building C, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
