Vote Center Public Meetings Kickoff

On Tuesday we began what will be a series of 25 public meetings related to the upcoming transition to vote centers in 2020. The Secretary of State joined us at Katella High School for this kickoff meeting.

We released our bid package for a new voting system in February and it will be closing on April 30, 2019. We will be replacing our system in advance of the 2020 election cycle.

Our planning for the transition to vote centers here in Orange County is well underway. We are developing new web pages for all things "vote center". You can visit our informational pages at ocvote.com/votecenter - these new pages will be introduced towards the end of May.

We have created 12 working groups in our office focused on all of the critical elements of vote center planning. The groups include Language Support, Ballot Boxes, Communication, Site Selection and more. These working groups are comprised of subject matter experts throughout the department.

Our 25-member advisory board, the Community Election Working Group (CEW) met yesterday where they heard a detailed briefing on our current vote center planning. This advisory board provides valuable community input into our planning efforts. Information on our CEW can be viewed on our website.
