  • Notice of Election
    • Notice is hereby given that  the Presidential Primary Election will be held in Orange County on June 7, 2016. 

      Nomination Papers may be obtained at the Orange County Registrar of Voters' office beginning on February 16, 2016 and must be filed in that office by March 11, 2016, 5:00 p.m.. Offices for which candidates may be nominated or elected at the Presidential Pirmary Election include: United States Senate; Congressional Districts - 38th, 39th, 45th, 46th, 47th, 48th and 49th; State Senate Districts - 29th and 37th; State Assembly Districts - 55th, 65th, 68th, 69th, 72nd, 73rd, and 74th; Orange County Supervisorial Districts - 1st and 3rd, and 52 Judicial Offices of the Orange County Superior Court. In addition, candidates for the Democratic, Republican, and Peace and Freedom Parties County Central Committees may obtain Nomination Papers beginning on January 4, 2016 and must file those papers by March 11, 2016. 

      Notice is further given that the polls for said election will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.  All ballots cast in said election will be counted centrally at the Orange County Registrar of Voters' office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.  

      Notice is further given that vote-by-mail ballot processing will begin on May 9, 2016, and will continue Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m until 5:00 p.m. until the election is certified on or about July 7, 2016. The last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot is May 31, 2016. The vote-by-mail process is open to the public at the Orange County Registrar of Voters' office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.

      Notice is further given that the manual tally of specific precincts will begin on June 8, 2016, at the Orange County of Registrar of Voters' office,  1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.

  • Establishment of an Ethics Commission Measure Legal Notice
    • Notice is hereby given that a measure will be submitted to the voters of Orange County at the Presidential Primary Election to be held on June 7, 2016.  If passed, the proposed measure would amend the County Charter and the County Campaign Reform Ordinance (TINCUP), and would establish a County Ethics Commission.

      Notice is further given that the Registrar of Voters has determined that the last day for filing arguments for or against this measure is February 16, 2016, at the Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana.  No arguments shall exceed 300 words in length.  No more than five (5) signatures shall appear with any argument for or against the measure.  For more information on measure arguments, a “Handbook for Submitting Ballot Measure Arguments” is available at the Registrar of Voters’ office (714-567-7600) and on its website, ocvote.com.

  • County Fiscal Impact Statement Measure Legal Notice
    • Notice is hereby given that a measure will be submitted to the voters of Orange County at the Presidential Primary Election to be held on June 7, 2016.  If passed, the proposed measure would add Article VII, Section 701 to the Charter of Orange County to require fiscal impact statements for countywide measures placed on the ballot.

      Notice is further given that the Registrar of Voters has determined that the last day for filing arguments for or against this measure is March 14, 2016, at the Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana.  No arguments shall exceed 300 words in length.  No more than five (5) signatures shall appear with any argument for or against the measure.  For more information on measure arguments, a “Handbook for Submitting Ballot Measure Arguments” is available at the Registrar of Voters’ office (714-567-7600) and on its website, ocvote.com.

  • Irvine Unified School District Bond Measure Legal Notice
    • Notice is hereby given that a bond measure will be submitted to the voters of the Irvine Unified School District, School Facilities Improvement District No. 1, at the Presidential Primary Election to be held on June 7, 2016.  The passage of this measure by at least 55 percent of the registered voters voting on the measure would authorize the school district to issue up to $319 million in bonds at legal rates.  The bonds would be used for the purpose to improve older schools with classrooms, science labs and school facilities that meet the same academic and safety standards as newer schools; update instructional technology and equipment to support science, engineering and other instruction; provide art and music classrooms; make schools accessible for students with disabilities; and improve traffic and safety around schools.

      Notice is further given that the Registrar of Voters has determined that the last day and time for filing arguments for or against this bond measure is March 14, 2016, at the Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana. No arguments shall exceed 300 words in length.  No more than 5 signatures shall appear with any argument for or against the measure.   • Orange Unified School District Measure Legal Notice
    • Notice is hereby given that a measure will be submitted to the voters of the Orange Unified School District at the Presidential Primary Election to be held on June 7, 2016.  If passed, the proposed measure would limit the number of terms a member of the governing board may serve on the governing board of the school district to three terms.

      Notice is further given that the Registrar of Voters has determined that the last day for filing arguments for or against this measure is March 21, 2016, at the Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana.  No arguments shall exceed 300 words in length.  No more than five (5) signatures shall appear with any argument for or against the measure.  For more information on measure arguments, a “Handbook for Submitting Ballot Measure Arguments” is available at the Registrar of Voters’ office (714-567-7600) and on its website, ocvote.com.

Orange County Random Draw
The random draw conducted by the Orange County Registrar of Voters will determine the order of candidates running for the offices of Members of the State Senate and State Assembly when the district is located within more than one county.
