Adele Tagaloa joined the Registrar of Voters permanently as a Polling Place Lead in the Election Services Unit in August 2009. She worked as Extra Help Trainer in the November 2008 General Election. Prior to joining the Registrar of Voters, Adele worked for 9 years at a Semi-Conductor Company, Teacher’s Assistant, a Children’s Pastor and volunteered at various non-profit organizations.
As a Polling Place Lead, Adele oversees all aspects of polling place recruitment. She works directly with public agencies to secure polling places that are needed for Election Day. She works directly with other units to ensure the voter database is set up for precincts and reporting groups, oversees pack-out, distribution and supplies, collection center recruitment and election payroll. In addition, Adele participates in community outreach events, including MyBallot and the 1% canvas.
The best thing Adele enjoys about working at the Registrar of Voters is her team and how everyone wants to serve the citizens of Orange County. She admits, while election season becomes VERY stressful; without her team to provide words of encouragement or an extra set of hands, her hours at work would seem useless. She enjoys the monthly team lunches and celebrating successes. Adele finds that her team environment is one where she can learn, try new things and still enjoy her family life even during Election years. She finds enormous energy each day to go above and beyond her duties.
How does Adele make it through each Election? Adele states “I am blessed to have a husband who is supportive and three children who understand the Election process from beginning to end, not just on Election Day. They know where polling places are without a sample ballot.”
