Qualifications

There are a few critical qualifications one must meet in order to volunteer on Election Day.

  • REGISTERED TO VOTE
  • You must be a registered voter in the State of California.

  • UNITED STATES CITIZENSHIP
  • It goes along with the registration requirement that you be a citizen of the United States of America.

  • 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
  • As the registration requirement also states, you must be 18 years of age. However, if you are volunteering through the Senior High School student program the minimum age is 16.

  • FREE FROM PAROLE OR JAIL
  • People who are currently in jail or on parole for a felony conviction cannot volunteer.

  • BILINGUAL [OPTIONAL]
  • For specific precincts we are in need of citizens who are bilingual speakers in either Vietnamese, Chinese, Spanish, or Korean.

  • FAMILIARITY WITH ELECTRONIC DEVICES [OPTIONAL]
  • While our eSlate voting devices are not complicated, knowing how to plug data cables in and type are a benefit.
