Outreach
Running successful elections always requires the ongoing support of the greater Orange County community and its citizens. The Registrar of Voters reaches out to the Orange County community in order to drive participation in elections and, through the direct involvement of the community, continue to conduct elections in a uniform, consistent, and accessible manner. There are plenty of ways to get involved. Explore your options below!
VOTER EDUCATION
Educating citizens about the elections process is crucial to driving voter turnout. We host and participate in many community events in order to increase participation.
RECRUITMENT
Each election typically requires that 5,000 people volunteer to work the polls. Outreach is responsible for coordinating the aquisition of this team. This includes the need for poll workers that are bilingual in English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish and Vietnamese. To volunteer, click here.
TRANSLATION & LANGUAGE SERVICES
Orange County is required by the Voting Rights Act to provide election materials in 4 other languages besides English.
Through this mutual support between city and county, the election process is becoming more effective.

First Place 2006 ; The Registrar of Voters takes first place for most interactive booth at the OC Fair.
Mobile Vote Unit ; The Mobile Vote Unit serves as a mobile polling place around election time and provides routine services wherever it may be.
Recruitment; A prime goal is to recruit poll-workers in person at the OC Fair. This sign notes that 6,000 volunteers are needed for the General Election.
