Registrar of Voters and Wells Fargo Invest In Community
Corporate Sponsorship Providing Volunteers and Vote-By-Mail Information

Santa Ana, CA October 22, 2008 –
The Orange County Registrar of Voters, in another first, has created a corporate sponsorship program to engage business in the elections process by having them provide polling places or volunteers to work the polls for the November 4th Presidential Election.  The Registrar of Voters is announcing Wells Fargo as the first company to join this unique program.

“We are very excited about Wells Fargo becoming a partner,” said Neal Kelley, Orange County Registrar of Voters.” “Their sponsorship is helping us reach our goal of 10,000 volunteers for the election. The future of successful elections must include a volunteer workforce made up of professionals from community oriented corporations like Wells Fargo,” he continued.

Wells Fargo is providing staff members to work at polling places across Orange County . Their responsibilities will be to attend a poll worker training class and assist voters through the voting process on Election Day.

"Wells Fargo is committed to the communities where we do business," says Nam Hoang, Wells Fargo region president for the North Orange County market.  "I’m proud to support the Orange County Registrar of Voters by providing an enthusiastic team of Wells Fargo volunteers to staff local polling sites for the upcoming historic election and assist with their Vote-by-Mail campaign.  I like to believe that it’s because of our passionate team members who give of their time, money and talents that our communities are better places to live, work and play.”

In addition to providing volunteers for the November 4, 2008 Presidential Election, Wells Fargo has displayed vote-by-mail applications in every Orange County branch lobby. The intent of the vote-by-mail campaign is to reduce lines at the polling places on Election Day.  Over 600,000 of Orange County ’s 1.5 million registered voters have requested a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 4th Presidential Election.
