Santa Ana, CA - February 4, 2008
- The Registrar of Voters will launch
streaming video of Election Night activity in our office in time
for Super Tuesday. The public will be able to access three
separate views on our website of the hectic pace on Tuesday night
as supplies, paper ballots and returns are processed.
These views will
include the receiving dock, conveyor tracks which move returns and
the vote tally room. Access to the vote tally room is restricted
to a handful of full-time staff with a high level of clearance
under the guard of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
“We continue to
innovate as we work to provide increased transparency of the
election process for all citizens of Orange County,"
said Neal Kelley, Registrar of Voters. “Over the past several
years we have been on the forefront of improving access for
interested citizens,” he
continued.
The high resolution
stream will be live beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday night and will be
broadcast until final unofficial returns are posted for the
evening. The link for the live broadcast will be located on our
home web page (www.ocvote.com).
