Santa Ana,
CA September
22, 2009 – Some
of the most common questions received by the Registrar of
Voters have to do with voter registration. Today our office
launched a new feature on our website that allows voters to
get answers to their registration questions quickly and
privately.
Citizens
can view their current
registration status by visiting www.ocvote.com/verify.
Users will be prompted to enter their date of birth and the
last four digits of their driver license. The voter's current registration information
will then display, which includes their name,
address, registration date, date of birth and the status of
their registration. Voters can also see if they are listed
as a permanent vote-by-mail voter.
The timing
of this launch coincides with the special election being
held on November 17, 2009 for the vacant seat in the 72nd
State Assembly District. Citizens living in the District may
want to take advantage of this new feature and verify their
registration status prior to the registration deadline of
November 2, 2009. If voters are unsure whether they are
eligible to vote in that election, or just wish to know who
their elected officials are and what district they represent,
they may visit www.ocvote.com/maps.
A link to the district look up is provided on every
voter’s personal registration page.
