SANTA ANA, CA – April 30, 2009 – The Orange County Registrar of Voters is advising eligible citizens that the deadline to register to vote for the May 19, 2009 Statewide Special Election is Monday, May 4, 2009.
Additionally, the Registrar of Voters is inviting people to join the growing number of Permanent Vote-by-Mail voters in the County of Orange. The deadline to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot, whether you wish to receive one permanently or just this election, is Tuesday, May 12, 2009.
Approximately 35% of registered voters in Orange County request Vote-by-Mail ballots either permanently or one-time. Vote-by-mail voters are provided flexibility when they vote. Vote-by-mail votes received prior to Election Day are processed prior to Election Day and are the first results reported on Election Night.
