The ROV has recruited 3,682 poll workers for the Statewide Primary.
The ROV has 200 County employees willing to work as County Poll Workers for June 3rd.

The ROV has recruited 1,124 poll sites for June 3rd.

  
The voter registration deadline to participate in the June 3rd Primary election is May 19, 2008.  For the CUSD Special Recall election it is       June 9, 2008.


For the June 3rd Primary the American Independent, Democratic and Republican Parties will each allow Decline-to-State voters to vote their Party ballot if desired.

      
Initiative #1274, Protection of Farm Animals, is one of many statewide petitions which recently qualified for the November ballot.  The November 2008 ballot will be lengthy in some ballot types.

» We Need Your Urgent Help                                     
June is one of the most difficult months to recruit volunteers to work in elections.  This is typically due to graduations, vacations and weddings.  We are in full recruitment mode and must recruit for the June 3rd Primary and the June 24th Capistrano Special Recall election.  There is a combined need of nearly 6,000 individuals for both elections.  If you have never volunteered to work an election please consider helping us by visiting www.ocvote.com/vounteer.

» New Poll Worker Customer Service Training Begins Today
Shown at right, our new poll worker customer service phone operators began training at our facility.  These individuals will be ready to answer poll worker questions and address any issues they may have prior to the June 3rd election.  Tickets will be opened and tracked through completion to make sure we are responding in a timely manner.  Poll workers can access this new service beginning May 1st.

» Poll Worker Recruitment at the 2008 OP Pro
With a combined need of nearly 25,000 individuals for our 2008 elections, we will be at numerous events throughout the summer in an effort to recruit large groups of poll workers.  In addition to Angels baseball we will be at the OP Pro Surfing Championship in Huntington Beach July 24-27, 2008.  We have targeted events throughout Orange County with heavy foot traffic in order to keep up with our recruitment needs.
 
» Poll Worker Train-the-Trainer Class Starts Today Shown at right our new train-the-trainer class began today for the June 3rd Primary Election.  Many of these trainers are returning with us once again following several elections.  These trainers are an experienced group of educators and trainers who will provide training to nearly 6,000 poll workers.  Our first poll worker training class begins May 1st and will run through June 2nd if needed.

» El Modena High School to Help Launch MyBallot Program                                                                    El Modena High School in Orange will be helping to partially launch our new student program, MyBallot.  The MyBallot program is a comprehensive 3-step series which includes in-class lessons on the history of voting, creating ballots and vote tabulation. Our powerful curriculum builds on students’ skills in English, Math and Civics.  At the end of the students' involvement they work at the polls.  El Modena students will start the program April 17th.
