When will the election take place?
The Governor must first issue a proclamation calling for the election to be held. This must take place within 14 days of a legislative vacancy. The deadline to call the election is September 23, 2009. Once the Governor has called the election it must take place between 112 and 126 days from the date of the proclamation. The primary must take place eight weeks prior to that election.
