Orange County Voting Systems Test to be Conducted
SANTA ANA – October 30, 2006 – Accuracy testing of Orange County’s voting system will take place tomorrow for the November 7, 2006 General Election. The test, known as the Logic and Accuracy test, is required by law to be performed prior to each election.
Logic and Accuracy tests include proofing the programming of the ballot, each ballot style and each contest position on the ballot.
“Having gone through an unprecedented series of elections with our eSlate voting system we are confident that it is a safe, accurate voting system,” said Neal Kelley, Registrar of Voters. “The voters of Orange County can continue to count on their voting system to perform well and record their votes correctly.”
The Hart InterCivic eSlate has proved to be 100% accurate in tests performed each election. The eSlate was first used in the 2004 election cycle.
The Registrar of Voters invites all interested parties to witness the test, which is open to the public.
