Registrar of Voters Open Saturday for New Citizen Registration and Voting

SANTA ANA, CA – October 23, 2006; The Orange County Registrar of Voters will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2006 to allow new citizens the ability to register and vote for the November 7, 2006 General Election.

New citizens that were sworn in after the Registration deadline (October 23, 2006) may only register and vote from October 24 th to October 31 st and only at the Registrar of Voters office for the November election.

“It is the greatest thing to watch someone register and vote for the first time,” said Registrar of Voters Neal Kelley. “We are happy to stay open so that new citizens have the opportunity to vote for the first time,” he continued.
